Bus Rapid Transit Webinar, Tuesday Feb 24, 9am-12

Green Wheels will be hosting a Caltrans webinar on Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) this Tuesday at the Northcoast Environmental Center. Snacks will be provided!

Bus Rapid Transit is a suite of strategies to deliver a bus transit system on par with light rail in terms of travel speeds, but more frequent and feasible for lower population densities. Examples of this type of system include Eugene’s EMX, and TransMilenio in Bogota. Come learn about this approach to bus transport and join a discussion of how some of these strategies might be applied here in Humboldt.

Please RSVP so we can plan the right quantity of snacks!

Webinar

I hope this goes better than one this last Wednesday on Bicycle/Peds. It was great information but technical difficulties with the "slides" hampered the presentation greatly.

Webinar

I assume you would like RSVPs but there is nothing here about who to call to let NEC know you are coming. I plan to be there, by the way.

Thanks Ron.  Glad you are coming.  I added a link so folks can rsvp.  Hopefully we will avert any technical difficulties.

Webinar

Thanks for hosting the BRT Webinar yesterday. It was interesting, though for someone with a statistics background the portion on calculating times got a little slow and tedious in places. But it makes you more appreciative on how complicated bus scheduling can become. I had to leave quickly at the end because I was parked in the 2 hour zone in front and did not want to get a ticket. It is irony that I felt I could not ride the bus because it would have have made it difficult to arrive on time at 9 AM and the return bus would not get me back into Eureka in time for another meeting.
