When: Leave from Library Circle at 2pm on Saturday, October 6th. We will be returning sometime early morning Sunday.
Where: Patrick's Point. It is about 25 miles north of Arcata. The route is mild. There are no scary bridges, no long stretches of highway. Instead we will be touring throught the bottoms, allong the hammond Trail, around the outskirts of Mckinleyville (possibly some really unintence paved single track if folks are up for it), a short (1 mile) on the 101, then back onto side roads, including one of my all time favorites: Senic Drive.
Perks: Green Wheels will be paying for camping spots, and we will be contributing the food for Saturday night's dinner (burritos). Not to mention, the awesome company of bikes.
What to Bring: Bring everything you need to sleep comfortably outside in October in Humboldt. That means Sleeping bag, ground pad, tent (email us if you don't have one, I am sure we will have room), toothbrush and what not, Snacks (when you bike a lot, you get to eat a lot), breakfast food for sunday, flashlight, rain gear...
How to carry it: If you have a bike rack, you can just strap everything on the rack. Email us, if you want to borrow an extra set of bike paniers. We recommend that you don't just wear everything in a backpack, as it is very uncomfortable. We would also be willing to carry some of the heavier gear in our bike trailers, if it comes to that. We just want lots of folks biking!
