Car-Free Day 2008: Public Space for the Planet and its People

HSU Car-Free Day

 

7am: Tour d'Arcata + free breakfast!

Community bike ride

Riders can choose from three locations:

  • Mad River Community Hospital
  • Bayside Grange
  • Or The Plaza

Rides leave at 7am, and join together at the Plaza . After a few loops around the Plaza, everyone will head up to HSU for a FREE, community sponsored breakfast. Breakfast includes Los Bagels, Sacred Grounds Coffee, Tofu Shop, Royal Cookie Capers, Wildberries Marketplace, and Fossil Free Fruit. Runners, Skateboarders, Rollerbladers all welcome.

Morning bus riders get breakfast too.

9-4: Pastels on B-Street

 

Help make B-street (the hill that goes through HSU campus), a walkable mural. Come grab some chalk and draw to your hearts content.

8pm: Bike-In/Walk-In Movie

8pm on the quad
Now showing: Airborne
Admission: FREE
Kinda like a Drive-in, but with out all the cars. Bring a sweatshirt.

We will also be announcing winners of bike drawing and assorted bike stuff. Tickets will be sold for $1 each or 6 for $5. Donations from Adventure's Edge, the Outdoor Store, Revolution Bicycle Repair, and Life Cycle.
